A leather 3 three piece suite, all recliners, provide sumptuous comfort after a day exploring in the fresh air. In addition to full central heating and double glazing, for those autumn and winter days, a welcoming open fire affords a snug retreat from the outside world. Television with freeview, DVD player with a selection of DVDs and books all contribute toward providing relaxed entertainment for the holidaymaker. The view from the lounge window provides an open aspect over the garden and surriunding countryside.

Fully Modernised Kitchen

The kitchen has been refurbished to a high standard throughout with ample storage cupboards plus dresser. A high chair is provided for the comfort of the younger holidaymaker. An oven with hob provide cooking facilities for those not wishing to partake of the restaurants, cafes and public houses throughout the locality. In the adjoining pantry (locally called the ‘dairy’) is a washing machine, refridgerator and freezer, plus further storage space.

Fun in the huge Cottage Garden

The large cottage garden provides plenty of space for kids to let off steam and for adults to relax.

The 10 acre field behind the garden rises up as part of the southern end of the Lincolnshire Wolds. From the top of this hill, on a clear day are extensive views of the Lincolnshire coastline (approximately 5 miles), plus intervening villages and farms

From the porch, enter into a comfortable, well equipped and welcoming lounge where it is too easy to relax and doze on the leather recliners. From the lounge enter a separate modern fitted and well-equipped kitchen/diner with adjacent utility room fridge/freezer, washing machine and central heating boiler. A separate large shower room with hand basin and WC. Two bedrooms, both furnished with ample wardrobes, chests of drawers, double beds, one bedroom with two additional single beds and one bedroom with baby’s cot.

A few places of potential interest to holidaymakers

Located close to a public footpath that leads through the Well Vale Estate to the market town of Alford, through woodlands within some of which were located World War 2 resistance facilities, thankfully never used in anger.

Closeby are prehistoric burial mounds including Giants Hill

Born and raised in the nearby village of Willoughby was Captain John Smith of Pocahontas fame. Captain Smith was Governor of the very first British settlement in what is now the USA.

In the nearby town of Spilsby John Franklin was born and raised.

Another of yellowbelly (Lincolnshire natives enjoy this curious epithet) of repute was Alfred Lord Tennyson who was born and raised in nearby Somersby

In nearby Alford, Thomas Paine (Payne), acclaimed as the “Father of the American Revolution, worked as an Excise Officer before emigrating to the Amercian colonies”
